Key

Keys have no inherent effect, but can be given different effects depending on the episode.

On its revealed side each Key shows a color and the corresponding icon. The unrevealed side shows the lock symbol. When a Lead enters play or is flipped and shows a specific Key, find that Key in the supply and place it on the Lead. If it shows an unrevealed Key, draw 1 random Key from the supply, flip it face up and place it on the Lead.

If you need to gain or place Keys from the supply but there are not enough left, proceed as follows:

  • If you need to gain Keys, gain as many as are still available, and ignore the rest of the effect.
  • If you need to place Keys on a card, place as many as are still available from the supply (or the key repository if used in this episode), and take the rest from any character’s play zones. In the rare case that there are not enough Keys in the play zones, ignore the rest of the effect.

Clarifications:

  • Keys are not Attribute Markers, even when they have a very similar effect. This means they do not interact with effects like Flexible.
