A maximum value sets an upper limit on the value of an effect. If the value exceeds this limit, the maximum value applies instead.

Example: An Action card states “ Add +2 for each Enemy at your location. [Maximum +4]”. If there are 3 or more Enemies at your location, you can still play the Action card, but you will only add +4.

• A maximum of an effect only applies for the effect itself. Meaning, the number can be increased above the maximum by another effect.
