Some effects have limits on how often they can be used or on the maximum or minimum value they can reach. These limits are indicated in square brackets […] after the effect. They apply to the entire text passage of the effect, not just to the preceding sentence.

Clarifications:

• A limit applies to all characters unless it is explicitly stated as “per character.” (Example: A character uses an effect during their own turn that has the restriction “[Limit 2 per round]”. The same effect is then used during another character’s turn. Now it cannot be used again for the rest of the round.)
• If an effect is optional and you choose not to use it, it will not count toward the limit. (See: Mandatory vs Optional Effects and Choose.)
• If a limit applies to a choice, each option cannot be chosen more than X times.
  Example: If you make a choice as part of an effect that says “[Each choice is limit 1 per round]”, you can select each option only once in the same round.
