Attach

Cards can be attached to other cards. This means the card being attached is placed beneath the card it attaches to, but in a way that it is still partially visible. An attached card stays together with the card it is attached to. (Typical examples for this are: A State that is equipped to an Enemy to make them stronger. Or an Ally that is attached to a Lead until it is rescued.)

Once in play, a card remains attached until either the card itself or the card it is attached to leaves play. In this case…

  • attached encounter cards and player cards are discarded,
  • and other attached cards are trashed.

A card can be attached either face-up (in play) or face down (out of play). As a default, cards are attached face-up unless otherwise specified. (See details under: Face-Up & Face-Down.)

Clarifications:

  • Attached cards are in play at the same location or in the same zone as the card they are attached to.
  • Players are not allowed to look at the front side of face-down attached cards.
  • Attached cards move together with the card they are attached to.
  • Attached cards retreat together with the card they are attached to.
  • A condition to attach a card is only checked at the moment it is attached and not continuously while it is in play.
