The chapter deck is prepared during episode setup (step 3) and guides the players through the game.

To prepare the chapter deck: Take all Chapter cards from the staging deck and turn them front side up. Stack them in sequential order so that Chapter 1 is on top, continuing with chapter 2 and so on. These cards form the chapter deck.

Clarifications:

• If there are multiple variants of a chapter they are differentiated by an ensuing number. (For example: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, …) In this case those chapters are stacked in-between in order of the second number. However, when progressing the chapter the game will tell you which chapter to use.
• The chapter deck is a deck. The top card of the chapter deck is in play, while all cards below it are out of play.
• The top card of the chapter deck is public information, while all cards below it are hidden information.
